Penn President Liz Magill took part in the groundbreaking for the renovation of Stuart Weitzman Hall as it is revamped as a hub for creativity and community at the Weitzman School. The project will modernize the historic structure and add new studios, versatile makerspaces, classrooms and meeting spaces, a learning hub, and an exhibition gallery that opens onto Smith Walk, one of the main arteries of Penn’s campus. Stuart Weitzman’s generous and longstanding support of the School has created a moment of surging momentum for the study and practice of the design disciplines at Penn and I am excited to see this innovative space when it reopens in 2025.
