Topping-off Ceremony - Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology

Penn President Liz Magill helped celebrate a milestone in the construction of the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology (VLEST): the final beam of the building’s structural support was signed by members of the Penn community and raised into place. This building will be completed at a time when humanity stands at the threshold of profound changes in the way we create and consume energy, and will serve as a hub of interdisciplinary expertise, inventive spirit, and urgent drive that Penn is so well-known for.  President Magill shared her thanks and appreciation with the building’s namesakes, Roy and Diana Vagelos, for their unwavering commitment to the power of scientific findings and invention.
