Penn in Latin America and the Caribbean Conference
September 23, 2022
Penn President Liz Magill joined Penn Nursing School Dean Toni Villarruel, Penn School of Arts and Sciences Dean Steve Fluharty, and Professor and Director of the Center for Latin American Studies and Latinx Studies Tulia Falleti, along with conference organizer Mércia Flannery and many distinguished presenters to open the 6th annual PLAC conference titled “Shared Narratives: Arts, Culture and Conflict in Latin America and the Caribbean.” The Penn in Latin America and the Caribbean (PLAC) conference exemplifies interdisciplinary research and teaching at Penn. Penn has deep and strong ties to Latin America and the Caribbean—the most important tie of all being people who make us a more dynamic and insightful university.
