Japanese Ambassador Mori Visit

Penn President Liz Magill welcomed Ambassador Mikio Mori, the Consul General of Japan in New York, to campus. President Magill and Ambassador Mori discussed the rich history between Japan, the University, and Philadelphia, and expressed their shared enthusiasm for renewed opportunities for student and faculty exchange. Ambassador Mori traveled to Philadelphia to participate in the Sakura Collection Fashion Design Award Show, a competition for young designers to connect with traditional Japanese materials and culture, which was being held for the first time in North America. Penn hosted the event at the Iron Gate Theatre.
